| TERMS OF SERVICE By using the wishproject.me website (“wishproject.me”), you are agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”). Violation of any terms below can, at the discretion of wishproject.me, result in the termination of your account. CREATING AN ACCOUNT You must be a person to use wishproject.me. No accounts may be established by automated methods. All users who create accounts must be 18 or over. We understand that people younger than 18 also have wishes, but we cannot be held liable for the wishes of minors or their outcomes. ACCOUNT LOGISTICS 1. In each survey following the first, you can decide if you would like to put your wishes to rest of continue. wishproject.me assumes that just because a wish hits its one-year mark in the database, it doesn’t mean the user is finished exploring it. As the research unfolds, we will decide whether we will explore such wishes for longer than one year, and we will alert you to this change via your provided email. If we continue exploring wishes for longer than one year, we will prompt you at the one year mark to decide whether you want to continue engagement with wishproject.me or put your wish to rest. 2. Wishes that come true will fall under a category, and like other wishes, we will continue to explore those through surveys for the year. 3. Putting a wish to rest is not the same as deleting it. These wishes will fall under a category, as the act of letting go of a wish is relevant to the research. wishproject.me understands that the act of letting go means moving on, and that such an act can be sensitive. However, we may contact users three months later to see how the act of letting go has affected them. 4. We discourage account cancellation. In order for the research and visualization to achieve maximum success, wishproject.me revisits each wish quarterly (through surveys like the ones at sign-up) for a year to record changes and new information. This information contributes to the evolution of the project. We are committed to a year long exploration of each wish and we hope you will be committed to exploring your wish through the duration as well. 5. If you must cancel your wish or your account, email goodbye@wishproject.me and let us know which you would like to cancel – your wish or your account. We will cancel it and respond. 6. Please note that cancelled wishes and accounts will not be deleted from the database (though we are not opposed to considering it on a case by case basis) because wish deletion in itself might bear relevant trends. It’s possible these wishes and demographics will fall under a category. However, the cancelled profile pages will be deleted and we will no longer contact those users regarding that wish or that account, depending on which was cancelled. 7. Users cannot recover their cancelled wishes or accounts. WISHPROJECT.ME RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS Support wishproject.me only provides support to registered users. If something is not working properly, or you have any questions or concerns, please contact help@wishproject.me and we will work to assist you. Security 1. wishproject.me gives each wish and user an automatically generated number identity, so as to protect anonymity. The public and other users will never be able to see your email address or username. wishproject.me will not share that information with any other parties. 2. wishproject.me has taken and agrees to take reasonable security precautions to protect your wishproject.me information, including username and password. 3. wishproject.me uses third party vendors and hosting partners to provide necessary backend, software, networking, storage and related technology to run wishproject.me. 4. Neither party shall transmit any destructive code to the other party. Termination wishproject.me has the right to suspend or terminate accounts and refuse future use for any reason at any time. Such termination will result in the cancellation of the account and user access to the account, and user relinquishment of all content within the account. Privacy Disclosure wishproject.me believes anonymity and trust are very necessary to this research. We will always do the utmost to maintain anonymity and trust. However, wishproject.me reserves the right to report to the proper authorities personally identifiable information to comply with subpoenas, if a user violates the terms of service, or if we learn about a wish that implies or states criminal activity, intent to gravely and physically harm oneself or intent to harm others. However, wishproject.me is not responsible or liable for any wishes that reflect such implications or direct statements. YOUR RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS Registration and Contact Information Use of wishproject.me requires registration and completion of surveys. You agree that the information you provide to wishproject.me is true, accurate and current. You also agree to keep this information accurate and up to date, especially your email, which is our way of contacting you regarding your profile. Security 1. You the user agree to take responsible security precautions to protect your own passwords, usernames, email addresses, and other identifying/account compromising information. 2. wishproject.me will never email you asking you to respond with your information. We will only prompt you to visit the www.wishproject.me to impart information. Please notify wishproject.me of any suspicious requests or unauthorized use of your account by emailing help@wishproject.me and we will assist you. 3. Neither party shall transmit any destructive code to the other party. Prohibited Conduct 1. Use wishproject.me for any unlawful purposes. 2. Interference with or disruption of wishproject.me services, servers or networks. 3. Modification, adaptation or hacking of wishproject.me, or of another website so as to falsely imply that it is related to wishproject.me. 4. Providing any information that is false or misleading. This is a research project and it relies on the honesty and accuracy of provided information. 5. Imply or directly state an intent to engage in criminal activity or cause harm to another person. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS wishproject.me is under copyright protection. You agree to not duplicate, modify, sell or exploit any portion of wishproject.me’s website, research or data without express written permission from wishproject.me. Contact hello@wishproject.me if you would like to seek any permissions. Quotes and image use are acceptable in the case of editorial coverage, but must be properly credited to wishproject.me. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY In no event shall wishproject.me or its affiliates be liable to you or anyone else for any special, incidental, direct, indirect, exemplary, punitive or consequential damages whatsoever. UPDATES TO TERMS OF SERVICE wishproject.me may update this policy. We will contact you via your provided email address about any significant changes. |
